Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy

Hands-on assessment and treatment for injury, pain, and mobility — built around a plan that keeps working after you leave the room.

Physiotherapy
Overview

Physiotherapy

Good physiotherapy does more than treat where it hurts — it finds why it hurts and gives you a plan to fix it. Our registered physiotherapists in Toronto's Canary District combine hands-on treatment with guided exercise so you recover fully, not just temporarily.

Whether you're dealing with a new injury, ongoing back or neck pain, a sports setback, or recovery after surgery, you'll get a plan built around your body and your goals — with the aim of graduating, not returning indefinitely. We also offer pelvic health physiotherapy and running gait analysis for more specialized needs.

Why This Service

Pain is the signal. We find the source.

01

Personalized assessment

Every plan starts with understanding your movement, not a generic protocol.

02

Hands-on treatment

Manual therapy, mobilization, dry needling, and guided exercise — with contemporary acupuncture available too.

03

Education included

Leave each session knowing why, not just what — with home exercises so progress continues between visits.

What to Expect

From your first hello to feeling better

01

Assessment

We review your history and movement to find the root cause, not just the symptom.

02

Treatment plan

A tailored mix of hands-on care and exercise, with a clear timeline for progress.

03

Ongoing care

Sessions adjust as you improve — the goal is graduating, not returning indefinitely.

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No — you can book directly. Some extended-health plans ask for a referral to reimburse you, so it's worth checking your coverage.

Can physiotherapy help with back pain, sciatica, or a sports injury?

Yes — those are some of the most common reasons people see us. Your assessment pinpoints what's actually causing it and maps out a realistic plan to get you moving again.

What happens at my first physiotherapy visit?

Your first appointment is a full 60-minute assessment and treatment — not just an eval. We review your history, watch how you move, find the root cause, and begin hands-on care that same visit (manual therapy and guided exercise), then map out the timeline. Just bring comfortable clothing you can move in.

How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?

It depends on what's going on, but you'll get an honest estimate after your first assessment. The goal is steady progress and graduating — not open-ended visits.

How much does physiotherapy cost, and do you offer direct billing?

Your first visit is a 60-minute assessment and treatment for $140. Follow-ups are $100 for 30 minutes, $140 for 45, or $175 for 60. After you book, our intake form lets you add your insurance so we can direct-bill many extended-health plans — otherwise you'll get a receipt to submit.

I've gone to a few different massage therapists for running-related maintenance. My experience with Michael has been fantastic and is the reason I've stayed with Elit for the last 2 years.
